Qigong and spiritual healing go hand in hand. Qigong healing is an ancient healing form and part of traditional Chinese medicine, which includes different Qigong exercises. Qigong healing is used to treat stress problems, headaches, dizziness, fibromyalgia pain, and social phobias. The basics of all Qigong healing techniques, is to take control of your body, mind and breathing, in order to get balanced. Qigong exercises consist mostly of soft and circular movements combined with breathing techniques. Learn the basics of Qigong healing in a simple 5-step process.
It is good to wear comfortable clothing during the exercises. Qigong teachers usually recommend that Qigong exercises should be practiced in quiet and tranquil surroundings and not in hot, cold or windy surroundings. It is not considered to be good to train on an empty stomach or when you have just eaten. You should avoid Qigong exercises if you experience strong emotions such as anger or anxiety and get balanced and relaxed first.
Before doing Qigong exercises with various movements, it is considered important to calm your mind and avoid sensory and analytical thinking. This is often done in a sitting position. Place yourself in a meditative state and start counting your breaths or repeat a word (a mantra). You should also try to relax the whole body. There are many breathing techniques that can help and they all focus on the importance of breathing from your stomach.
Static Qigong is when you quietly meditate while doing breathing exercises. Static Qigong is recommended at dusk, early in the morning or before Dynamic Qigong. You should always relax your mind and body with static qigong before moving on to dynamic qigong, where you move your body in soft and circular movements.
When you feel relaxed in body and mind, it’s time to do some dynamic Qigong movements. The movements are usually soft and circular. Learn one or more movements from a supervisor and then perform them at home. The movements that are recommended depend on the symptoms you have. Each Qigong healing session takes about 20 minutes to 60 minutes.
Dynamic Qigong simply means that you move your body in soft and often circular movements. Dynamic Qigong is usually recommended at dawn, before you go to bed. But as mentioned above, before beginning with your movements, it is recommended to first relax your body and mind with Static Qigong.
After the Qigong movements (Dynamic Qigong), a short meditation is recommended. You should try to meditate by yourself for about 15 minutes every day. Daily meditation is great for overall spiritual healing.
After some time of practicing Qigong healing techniques, it is normal to feel heat or cold, especially in hands, feet and head. You may also experience numbness, tremors or soreness in legs and even get mild headaches. The different perceptions are completely harmless and are considered to indicate progress in the exercises. According to Chinese medicine, Qigong healing and Qigong exercises, can increase vital energy which in turn may lead to a reduced need for sleep and increased sexual desire. Try it yourself and experience the spiritual healing.
