Subconsciously you are, with your words and thoughts, creating your life experience in every moment. This inner dialog is a stream of affirmations.
What you think and say is a reflection of your inner beliefs. Your beliefs are just learned patterns of thoughts. It’s great if your thoughts are supporting you to live a great life, but if you keep repeating negative thoughts about yourself, you are sabotaging your chances of achieving what you want in life.
By using positive affirmations, you will challenge your negative subconscious beliefs and replace them with positive self-nurturing beliefs. The positive affirmations will remind you to consciously think and talk in a more positive way and keep you focused on your goals. The affirmations will change the way you think and feel about things. They will actually reprogram your pattern of thoughts / your “belief”. You replace dysfunctional beliefs with new positive beliefs that support you through life.
In the beginning of stating your positive affirmations, you might experience resistance with a strong negative feeling. This is an indication that there is a big gap between your habit of thoughts that we call “belief” and the positive affirmations. If this happens, continue to repeat your affirmations with passion and conviction. Soon your inner resistance will ease up and a new set of beliefs will be born inside of you.
As mentioned above, some affirmations will feel negative, like a big lie and you will feel resistance and this only says that they may take a bit longer to impact. Other affirmations will feel great. With these affirmations, you will experience changes almost immediately. This means that you have to reach that feeling place in order to create. When you feel good as you work on your affirmations, you create. You create with your thoughts and feelings.
There are different affirmation techniques that you can use. You can write down your affirmations on a piece of paper and read them just before you go to sleep, or you can have affirmation cards around you so that you notice them throughout the day. A powerful way of using affirmation is to look in the mirror while you state your affirmation out loud. Don’t forget your feeling while stating your affirmations.
The more positive you feel about your affirmations, the more effective they are. Say your affirmations with passion! Have fun with your affirmations. Sing them! This is a great and effective way to work with affirmations. You can also listen to CD’s that transmits the affirmations to you subliminally with subliminal messages. Another way is to attend workshops where they have “affirmation bath”. On these workshops the participants are sitting around one person at a time while they make positive statements about them.
